We took full advantage of the spell of sunshine when my class joined Mrs. McLoughlin's class to have fun with the shadows we could make with our bodies.
We used prisms to see if we could make all the rainbow colours.
Mrs. McLoughlin invited a Biomaterials Scientist and a Community Care Worker to talk to us about their work. The Scientist works in a biomedical company that designs and makes devises to help sick people who have tummy trouble or reflux problems. We are delighted to meet the wonderful people invited to her classroom.
We also enjoyed learning about our lungs. We used a plastic bottle and a balloon to illustrate how our lungs work when we inhale and exhale. We learned about our lung capacity when we did an experiment to see how much air our lungs could hold.Mrs. McLoughlin's lungs can hold more air than Mrs. Newell's.
